Divest Concordia is a student group calling on Concordia University to remove its investments in fossil fuels, and adopt a responsible investment policy.

As of November 8th, 2019, Concordia University has committed to removing all its investments from oil and gas and transitioning to a fully sustainable portfolio by 2025. Divest Concordia is still present to hold the university accountable to this commitment, and to support other students in this fight.

Global Institutions Divesting

Institutions worldwide have already chosen to move their endowments away from coal, oil and gas companies because they recognize fossil fuels carry ethical and financial risks.

Concordia University supports the tar sands and has had over* $11M invested in fossil fuels.

Concordia's endowment fund has over* $100$M of investments with $11.7M invested in the fossil fuel industry of which $2.6M in pipelines and $9.1M in oil and gas.
